A New Beginning
New Beginnings Lakeside Church began as New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in the year 1997. Founded by Pastor Darrick Hayden and his wife Jennifer, the church started as a home fellowship. Within three months it grew so that it became necessary to find a larger meeting place. The fellowship moved to a hotel conference room for another three months until a temporary home was found at a West Side storefront property, where the fellowship continued to grow for two years.
In the summer of 2000, the Lord opened wide the door for the humble congregation to purchase Kramers Lake, where the church has resided to the present day. Despite being a small congregation at that time, God provided in miraculous ways for the church to purchase the large property. Along the way, the name changed to New Beginnings Lakeside Church. NBLC has been home not only to the church but also to camps and conferences over the years.
In 2021, Pastor Doug Horner began serving as the lead pastor of the church. The church's mission continues to stay the same: winning, building, and sending people for Jesus Christ – starting in our community, and expanding to our city, country, and world.
